The Women’s Conference 2009, like all of us, is embracing change – evolving and moving forward in new directions. This year’s conference is set to be our most exciting event yet with a terrific lineup of leaders, innovators and thinkers. The main day of the Conference, on Tuesday, October 27th, will continue to be a time when we gather to unite around a common purpose, explore issues that affect our lives, share our inspirational stories, and empower one another to be Architects of Change in our lives, in our communities and in the world.
In response to your enthusiasm, this year we’ve expanded the Conference to last two full days. Join us on the morning of Monday, October 26th for a brand new event -- A Day of Transformation, special sessions full of Tips & Tools for How to Become an Architect of Change. Following the sessions, we’ll host an expanded Night at The Village – with even more speakers, authors, shopping and entertainment. The Village is The Place to Be…Mix, Meet & Mingle with Architects of Change.
The impact of The Women’s Conference has extended far beyond our annual event in California. For millions of women, and men, who want the opportunity to engage and connect, we have created a new gathering place here online, where -- every day -- we can empower and inspire one another to be Architects of Change as advocates, mothers, artists, caretakers, teachers, friends or entrepreneurs.
We invite you to explore our new website – a Home for Architects of Change -- and let us know what you’re thinking about, talking about and doing in your own lives. We want you to join our conversation at “Our Kitchen Table” where we talk about the most relevant issues in our lives – family, work, life balance, health and public service. Tell us what you're talking about around your kitchen table. This is where we are all free to be who we are -- to feel it, see it, use it and to pass it on.
We hope you’ll bookmark the site so you won’t miss the timely blog posts, articles, features and videos authored by some of the luminaries who speak at the Conference, as well as other experts, writers and journalists. And, if you can’t join us in person at the 2009 Conference, you can experience the energy and inspiration of the two-day event here online with amazing speakers and exclusive online interviews and content. You can even gather and watch with your family, friends or colleagues – at home or in the office.
Whether at the conference itself, or here on our website, the message remains the same: Be Who You Are…An Architect of Change. Pass It On. Who you are is here.
Please speak up for my 90 year old mother. She raised a family. Saved her money. And is very sharp and strong despite discovering she has coon cancer.
Because a sibling has challenged her compotency because they are afraid she cut them from her will, she is being railroaded in court. She hired an attorney, but the court refuses to recognize him. She is sane and can make her own decisions, but the court process is forcing her to pay all court costs to prove she is sane. She has lost all her savings of $45,000 in just 1.5 months. They are going after her home now.She is devestated, but is being denied her rights. They told her if she does not go along, she will be wiped out financially.I beg you to contact me. Speak to the powers that be that this is going on in our courts everyday and there is no recourse to stop the process. It's a crime. A sin against all mother's. My mother. They will be coming at her within the next to weeks to finalize it and put her away. HELP HER PLEASE. Her name is Margaret Randazzo
Her birthday is coming this November 20th. She will be 91.

I am so disappointed that Maria Shriver invited Kate Gosselin to join The Women's Conference this year. I hope she takes some time to learn more about Kate's claim to fame and her exploitation of her kids before her appearance. Kate is selfish and greedy and not a role model to be featured at a "Women's Conference" on issues and concerns important to women today. The only important issue she may have knowledge of is the issue of child exploitation. This Conference is so important and features so many respectful and highly aclaimed speakers who can really comment on family, work-life balance, spirituality, health, aging and financial planning that it is shameful that Maria has included Kate Gosselin among names such as Madeleine Albright, Katie Couric, Deborah Roberts, and Elizabeth Edwards. Please do not endorse the exploitation of innocent children and cancel Kate Gosselin's appearance at your conference now.

I tried to log on to the website at 8:30am,9:00am and 9:15am to no avail and by 10:00 the website listed no more tickets were available to women's full conference on October 27th. A friend also had same difficulty. She said a waiting list for tickets are available. I found no waiting list on your website. Can you instruct me or put me on the waiting list and contact me at the above e mail address if any tickets become available.

The Maria Shriver, First Lady of California Web site states that "from day one, she made the position her own by combining her journalist's eye for needs of real people" and "has used her voice to advocate on behalf of women and the working poor". I wonder if Maria Shriver knows any women on the Healthy Families waiting list or any single mothers who can afford to attend The Women's Conference 2009. For $3600, they could have secured a table for 12 on the floor, or purchased a Day of Transformation ticket for $75. Irony can be a beautiful thing.

Thank you for providing a platform to cultivate a spirit of community, inspiration and empowerment. I have met so many people during the last conference I attended and glad you have expanded the event this year in Long Beach, well as virtually. Love the social networking presence.

I love this method! I've always said you need to be who you are, not who someone or somebody wants you to be!

This is a great idea to help inspire women the world over. Maria and her team have established a platform from which they are able to touch the lives of women of all ages and creeds. I am totally inspired and even though I cannot attend the conference, I will be following this movement every step of the way. I will not fail to pass it on.
