I am a NYC mom of three (16, 14 & 3), who had one of those "there has to be a better way" moments, and invented the nomie baby car seat covers. From there, I started nomie baby, a company who's mission is to help solve problems for parents.
Starting a business is no small undertaking. Here are my five tips for how to make the process smoother --
I am NYC mom of 3 (16, 14 & 3), who had one of those "there has to be a better way" moments, and invented the nomie baby car seat covers, and started nomie baby, a company who's mission is to help solve problems for parents. I used to be in marketing and PR, which has helped in getting the word out. I volunteer at a number of organizations, and since my youngest daughter was born 2 month premature, and spent over a month in the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit), I knew that I wanted to say "thank you" to the doctors, nurses and social workers who do so much the tiniest ones, so a percentage of all profits go to the NICU! My site is www.nomiebaby.com
Hi Katie,
Thanks for the reminders. I relate to each of them. I launched my new career six years ago when my daughter was a senior in high school...EMPTY NEST SUPPORT SERVICES. Prior to that career , I was a Speech and Language Therapist and facilitator of Women in Life Changes Support Groups back in 1982. The idea for Empty Nest support, popped in my head during a parent meeting. Knowing who we are and who we aren't is a weekly check in for me. From that reflection, I pull up new inner and outer resources. Don't you find that women forget to ask for help? Well, that is a new habit for me. I asked for help but not when I really was feeling vulnerable. It was easy to say," could you call or pick up or give me your opinion," which was different than, I am feeling discouraged right now..yikes..help. Take care, Natalie Caine

Thank you for some very wise advice. I just started a travel business because I love to travel, but will I love sending others off to places I might want to go to? We'll see....
