Wells Fargo

How WE Empower Others

Wells Fargo’s commitment to our communities is a core part of our Vision & Values. We collaborate with our team members and organizations across the country to promote long-term economic prosperity and quality of life for everyone in our communities. That’s why we donate nearly a quarter of a billion dollars in charitable contributions to nonprofits annually.

Wells Fargo & Company is a nationwide, diversified, community-based financial services company. Founded in 1852 and headquartered in San Francisco, Wells Fargo provides banking, insurance, investments, mortgage, and consumer and commercial finance through more than 10,000 banking stores, 12,000 ATMs, the Internet (wellsfargo.com and wachovia.com) and other distribution channels across North America and internationally.

We are one of America’s largest financial contributors to nonprofits. In 2009, we invested $202 million in 18,000 nonprofits nationwide, surpassing $200 million for the second year in a row. We thank our team members, who are community leaders and volunteers. In 2009, our team members volunteered 1.23 million hours, served on 10,000 nonprofit
boards, and raised a record $42 million during the Community Support/United Way campaign.

Wells Fargo is proud to be a long-time participant of The Women’s Conference. We share the core values promoted at the conference by celebrating women and their entrepreneurial spirit. Nationally, women account for 60 percent of Wells Fargo’s 278,000 team members. We are nationally recognized for being a great place to work and creating an inclusive environment by organizations such as DiversityInc, “Top 50 Companies for Diversity” and LATINAStyle, “Top 50 Best Companies for Latinas.”

Wells Fargo believes in empowering women to succeed financially both in business and personally. In 1995, Wells Fargo launched Women’s Business Services to provide outreach and education to help women business owners reach their financial goals. To date, Wells Fargo has loaned more than $35 billion to hundreds of thousands of women business owners, helping one of the fastest growing segments of the nation’s economy achieve their business goals. Women’s Business Services works with key local and national organizations to support the growth of the women’s business community, including the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and the Center for Women’s Business Research (CWBR).
