Left to right: Olivia Ramirez Smith, Clint Ober and Mariel Hemingway.
A woman turns fifty-four and gets told, in a hundred small ways, that the interesting part is over. Olivia Ramirez Smith is building a community on the position that this is a clerical error.
She names the period the comeback season. Inside The Mother Earth Effect Community, the women-only group she is launching on Skool in September 2026, the phrase will carry a specific meaning with little to do with encouragement.
Her claim is that a woman in midlife is not starting over. Starting over implies the first attempt failed and the material is lost. What Olivia Ramirez Smith sees instead is a woman arriving with thirty years of competence and no current use for the identity she built it inside. The daughter, the wife, the manager, the one who handled everything. Those roles ended on schedule and left her holding a full set of skills and no job description.
That is not a loss. It is a question of where the skills go next, and it responds to different treatment than grief does.
The community is built around that read. Members will work through expert-led masterclasses in leadership, wellness, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, branding, and mental health. Wisdom circles will connect them to women who have already made the crossing. Accountability groups will keep the work moving between sessions, and the networking will be deliberate rather than incidental.
Olivia Ramirez Smith is direct about what she is not building. The community is not a motivational group. Every gathering is designed to end with something the woman can act on that week.
She has standing to make the argument. She founded The Mother Earth Effect LLC at sixty-two, after twenty years running New Image and J. Michaels, the med spa she opened in Victorville, California, in 1999 and grew to fifty staff. Most people build the wellness company at thirty-five and coast. She did the opposite.
Her method has a clinical spine. Olivia Ramirez Smith is a Master Neurolinguistic Practitioner (NLP) and a certified Mental and Emotional Release (MER) specialist, and both trainings deal in the same material: the instructions a woman follows without noticing that she is following them. I am the strong one. I do not have time. I will rest when this is finished. She listens for those lines because a woman has usually been obeying them since her twenties.
MER goes further back than the sentence. The protocol returns a woman to the first instance of a pattern and releases the charge at its root instead of managing the symptom at the surface. NLP handles the language layer above it. Together they explain why a woman can leave a weekend feeling different and be unchanged by Thursday if nobody touched the instruction underneath.
Grounding does the physical half. She advocates for direct contact between the body and the surface of the earth, and researchers studying the practice have reported effects on sleep, inflammation markers, and nervous-system regulation. A settled body gives a woman access to material she cannot reach while her system stays on alert.
The order matters to her. Settle the body, then do the harder work, then send her home with something structural rather than a feeling.
Her number one best-selling book The Mother Earth Effect carries a foreword by Mariel Hemingway and the accounts of twenty-one contributing women. Sacred Spaces: Subtle Shifts for Mind, Body, and Home Transformation, the Colleen Avis-led collaboration that won the Books for Peace International Award, was her first number one. The film she co-produced, The Earthing Movie, featuring Clint Ober, Strategic Partner, reached over 8 million global views.
For the full version, Sole Rooted runs six days at Gaia Villa in Joshua Tree, twelve women at a time, entry by a one-on-one Zoom with her.
The community is where she expects most of them to start, and the door is open ahead of the launch at skool.com/the-mother-earth-effect-8045. Olivia Ramirez Smith describes the goal in plain terms: a woman remembers who she is, finds her voice again, and walks into the next chapter without treating it as a consolation prize.
