Helen Lee Schifter is someone who recognizes the power of ensuring that people feel the ability to shine and succeed in all aspects of their careers and personal lives, as well. It’s important for people to recognize the sacrifices that people make in the workplace in order to achieve greatness, and success.
According to Helen Lee Schifter, there is indeed a need for going about engaging in change that is healthy, constructive and meaningful dialogue about the importance of highlighting the achievements of women in the workplace. Indeed, as a society we have made incredible strides and substantial progress in this arena and that should be a tremendous source of pride for us all.
But it is empowerment of people in the workplace that needs to be emphasized and take special notice. The reality is that there are different ways to go about empowering people in the workplace. Surely, motivating good work by providing incentives whether in the name of compensation or otherwise is a good start.
But there are also other ways of going about this. There is a need to have a culture in the workplace that fosters creativity and goodwill between employers and members of the workforce. This can be done through a variety of ways. Here are just a few tips that we’ve seen succeed in the past.
- Rally the troops: Be an employer that seeks to take pride in his or her workforce. Employers can do this in a variety of ways, including but not limited to showing employees a sense of appreciation and gratitude for all they do for the company and the broader community.
- Create work holidays: To encourage social participation and engagement, it’s a good idea to create an environment where there’s participation among team members outside of the workplace.
- Have events produced outside of the confines of work: This will encourage social camaraderie among team members, which always goes a long way toward creating an environment that’s more productive, and in turn a work-product that’s superior to what otherwise would be created.
- Be Nice, Generous and Hospitable: The most important thing for an employer to do is to be supportive of those in his or her workforce, in a way that makes them feel empowered.
