Looking for a healthy snack? Finding healthy snacks that don’t require cooking or shopping for fresh produce can be challenging. He has weighed in on the best and worst snacks to eat!

We all want to lose weight, but that’s not always easy because it may be a struggle to go shopping for healthy foods that aren’t often available at our local grocery store or buy enough of them to get the right balance of vitamins and minerals. One way out is to make your own.

Dr. Jordan Sudberg has some tips for losing weight without going hungry when you’re trying to do it healthy:

Keep a bag of fresh vegetables in your car when you’re headed out because you never know when hunger pangs will hit.

Don’t buy fast food. It doesn’t matter how hungry you are or if you’re in a rush—it will not help you stick to your healthy diet plan.

Buy whole-grain bread and cereals. You’ll get more fiber and the right balance of vitamins and minerals without unwanted additives, which can trigger your metabolism to slow down.

Enjoy dinner early so that it will interrupt your eating schedule for the rest of the day and turn off your appetite because that way, it won’t be as hard to get back on track if you are starving at lunchtime.

If you want to eat when you’re away from home, there are better ways to do it than ordering a pizza.

The food you don’t need to prepare, shop for or cook can be found all over your neighborhood. Look for fresh fruits, vegetables in season, and outside snacks such as popcorn, carrots, celery, and hummus.

Avoid fast food restaurants entirely. Fast food is high in fat and calories and usually doesn’t have the right balance of vitamins and minerals, so you can lose weight without getting hungry on those days.

Try to prepare your meals at home. The food you prepare can be healthier, lower in fat and calories, and better for you than going out to eat.
